“The visual aspect of the interaction is often not targeted in a systemic way. This is not just accidental neglect, I think, but a reflection of the inherent difficulty of a visually oriented interaction analysis. […] We have the ability to parse talk into separate units which we call words, sentences, and larger discursive units, such as “a story”.
